I want to share my daughter Isabella's (Bella's) journey. It all started in 2nd grade when a teacher suggested she might have a learning disability, but I knew that wasn't true. By 3rd grade, she was recognized as a gifted learner in the La Cañada School District.
In 4th grade, Bella impressed me by independently working on a science fair project about the universe. She even won a trip to Washington, D.C., to tour the capital.
Junior high was tough; Bella faced bullying but remained strong and ended up as a straight-A student in advanced classes. Her score of 1200 on the pre-SAT and invitations to prestigious summer programs show her determination.
Unfortunately, when COVID-19 hit during her senior year, Bella struggled with online learning and faced depression, leading her to flunk out of high school. With my support, she earned her GED, went to Pasadena City College, joined the track team, became captain, and maintained a 4.0 GPA.
Bella has been accepted to several universities, including DePaul University, Temple University, Pittsburgh University, the University of Eastern Illinois, and finally, the University of Houston, which she will attend. I’m creating this GoFundMe page to support her graduation party, and any contributions would mean so much.
I’m incredibly proud of Bella. She is resilient, driven, confident, and kind. She truly deserves congratulations for all her accomplishments.
Thank you!
