Thank you for visiting our page! We (Jesse and Karen) started Education Assessment System in 2020 with the goal of reducing the time and cost for students to complete their degree through effective and efficient assessment of prior learning. Over the last three years, we have been doing a lot of research, planning, and starting our tech build (while working our full time jobs :)) .

If you are not familiar with PLA (Prior Learning Assessment), think of it as a way for students to earn credit for learning and knowledge gained through life and work experience, employer training programs, military experience, studying independently, volunteering/community service, and studying open source courseware. If you'd like to learn more, please visit our website.

Not all colleges grant PLA and those that do often reviewer prior learning differently due to a broad range of policies and philosophies. It is hard for students to understand how their experience can be turned into college credit. It can also be a long process for students and college evaluators.

As an example: Maria (see our explainer video above) who has years of experience and formal training wants to earn credit for what she already knows. We’ve created an application that can help her see how much credit a college will award her for her experience. Using machine learning we are able to turn what is currently an arduous weeks or months long process into a days-long streamlined student (inputting their experience) and faculty (evaluating the student submission) experience.

We are thrilled to share that our self-funded minimum viable product (MVP) is ready for beta users and we have universities ready to partner with us. We are ready to launch to serve the 66% of working Americans with no college degree. Using our application, those working adults can earn a degree in less time and cost freeing up the time and resources they need for their families and career.

Will you help us assist working individuals who want to pursue their degrees and earn credit for the valuable knowledge they have acquired through their work experience?

If so, you can help us in one of two ways:

  1. Provide a donation by donating here. If you donate on this site, it is a non-tax-exempt gift; we welcome any amount that you can give.
  2. Participate in an official Friends and Family Fundraising round. If you’d like to formally invest $20,000 or more, please contact us at the email addresses below. We’ll set up a time to share more details about investment opportunities.

If financial support is just not of interest, that’s ok too. Please root for us and send your positive energy our way.

Thank you so much for your consideration!
