Hello and welcome to Quincy's "Team USA Roller Derby Road to Brisbane, Australia" fundraiser!
Quincy, better know as Qzilla has earned the right to represent the United States at the 2025 JRDA World Cup in Brisbane, Australia! She will be joining 19 other high-level female skaters as they compete against some of the best roller derby teams in the world.
We are extremely excited and proud of Quincy and all the hard work she has put into earning this opportunity. I wanted to share with you a little about Quincy and her journey.
She started skating when she was just 5 years old and quickly took to it. She skated 2-3 times a week with her friends just for fun until we learned that Nashville had a Junior Roller Derby Team. She attended a practice on Tuesday and immediately joined the team on Thursday. Since then, she has worked incredibly hard at not just playing the sport, but understanding the sport and what it takes to be successful as an individual and as a teammate. She has always looked for opportunities to skate and compete. In the 2022-2023 season she skated with a team out of Maryland in the post season Regional tournament and caught the bug of that high level competition. In the 2023-2024 season her home team, the NashVillians decided to commit to post season and skate a more competitive schedule. Together Quincy and her teammates earned the right to go skate in the Championship tournament and they came in third place! During that tournament Quincy received the MVP for her position, blocker!!
After that tournament Quincy decided to tryout for Team USA. We felt that just being able to tryout and skate with some of the best skaters in the country would be a huge honor. And it was. Fast forward to the 2024-2025 season and her home team is gearing up for another season of high-level derby. Quincy was selected by her teammates to be one of the two team captains and has now learned that she earned a roster spot on Team USA! What an incredible ride this has been, and it's just getting started.
This is Quincy's final year skating with her home team, the NashVillains. After the season wraps up, she will be joining the other Team USA skaters in Brisbane, Australia to skate in the 2025 JRDA World Cup! This tournament will be the last time that Quincy will skate as a Junior before she ages out and gets to start working on earning a spot on an adult team. We would like to make this trip to Australia something that she will never forget and show her that all her hard work, passion, focus, and energy was worth it, and it paid off! Quincy balances being a 4.0 student with strength training and 2-3 practices a week while still having a super active social life. I really don't know how she does it some days.
Please consider donating to her travel fund. All donations will go directly to her Team USA expenses like uniforms, travel, lodging and meals. Every little bit helps her get closer to Brisbane and is very appreciated.
