Hello, my name is Alicia, and I’m a single mom doing everything I can to build a better life for my five children.
I work third shift as a hospital tech, and I’m just two semesters away from graduating nursing school and sitting for the NCLEX to become a Registered Nurse. My goal is to provide lasting stability for my family—and to give back to others through nursing, something I’ve worked tirelessly toward for years. But right now, we’re facing a crisis I can’t fix on my own.
After being abandoned by my husband, the father of my three youngest children I’ve been raising my children alone. I was adopted as a child by a much older couple in my birth mothers family who have since passed away, so we don’t have family to lean on. Despite working hard and doing my best, we’ve recently hit a breaking point.
Last week, our only car was repossessed. I was just two payments behind, and now with late fees and nearly $1,000 in repossession charges, it will take $2,500 just to get the car back. Without it, I can’t get to work, school, my children’s appointments—or even the store for basic needs.
But this is more than just an inconvenience. Two of my youngest children are on the autism spectrum and attend multiple therapies each week that are critical to their development. One of them also suffers from a seizure disorder and severe asthma, which means we must travel often to see specialists in Charleston, hours away. For him, transportation is not just important—it keeps his little body functioning.
And on top of everything…
One of my children has a birthday coming up on June 24th. I want so badly to give them something to smile about, but right now, even basic bills are overwhelming. A simple cake, balloons, or even a day of peace and joy would mean the world to us.
I’ve come this far through Hard work and determination but I can’t do this part alone. Please consider helping if you can—I’m asking for a helping hand so I can continue working, finish school, and provide for my children.
What We Need
- $2,500 to recover our only vehicle
- Any extra funds will help cover essential bills, birthday needs, and ongoing medical travel and therapy costs
If you can donate—any amount will make an huge difference. If you can’t give, you can still help us, so please consider sharing our story. Every little bit brings us closer to stability and keeps hope alive for our family.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you for your kindness and compassion. You are helping us keep moving forward.
With love and gratitude,
