I'm starting this fundraiser in Honor of my dad. Charles R. Epley (1950-2024). For those of you that didn't know he passed away February 26th 2024. My dad was a United States Marine Veteran. He loved his family, his country, sports , and his Harley Davidson. My dad was a father and grandfather to my children. Growing up in Yuma, on 10th Avenue , My childhood, then my children grew up on 10th Avenue. So many memories. Our house was always open for friends and he was very involved.He was the president of the PTO at O.C. Johnson Elementary School when.my.kids attended. Always attended just about every event weather it was sports ( mainly basketball) , band, dance, or theater he was our biggest fan. He passed before he could meet his 1st great granddaughter born 04-21-2024. His last days were spent with family at the hospice of the valley in Surprise, Az.
My dad was a country boy. Born and raised in Fowlerville, Michigan and worked the farm. I remember so many vacations growing up. My favorite is when we were all in Ocean City, Maryland. My dad took my sister Erin and I to the boardwalk carnival and rode all the rides with us. I remember laughing and screaming with the pure joy and happiness .
I didn't get to honor my father while he was alive but this fundraiser is to raise money for a memorial for him. He was a proud parent of generations of YUMA HIGH SCHOOL CRIMINALS. He had a saying " If you want to be better, you have to do better"
I want to say thank you to everyone , this is something that really means a great deal to me., I appreciate all of you just taking time to read this. All of you who remember my dad at games yelling from the bleechers, or the revving sound of his motorcycle or goin to the house to visit and him yelling "whaaaaata want" , or "PIZZA IS HERE" So many great memories. Some of the absolute best pool parties in the history of ever ever.
THinking back my dad will live on in our hearts and memories and he will forever be dearly missed.
