Ā Sandra Beauford is my friend, and she has two daughters, two sons, and a one-year-old granddaughter. Sandra came into my life four years after I lost my own 12-year-old daughter to asthma. I was grieving in waves, struggling as a single mom of three living children while working two customer service jobs. I couldnāt slow down to grieve, and it left me feeling out of control. Sandra always made time to comfort and uplift me, reminding me that āNo Weapon Formed Against Me Shall Prosper.ā Her encouragement helped me find the right path to healing, and I look up to her for her strength and compassion. She was part of my village, holding me up until I could stand on my own. Now, I want Sandra to know she is not alone, and I am part of her village too.
Ā Sandraās world changed suddenly when her husband, a semi truck driver, was involved in a fatal accident. Two semi trucks collided, and the logs from the truck in front struck through her husbandās cabin, taking his life. Sandra was at work when the accident happened, and her 12-year-old daughter received the tragic news from the police before Sandra could be there to comfort her. Sandra is now a single mom of four children and a single grandparent, the sole provider for her family. Her children need her more than ever as they grieve the loss of their father, and Sandra needs support to be there for them without the added stress of financial crisis.
