Be strong and Courageous, do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God, is with you wherever you go! Joshua 1:9
Excitingly, Crystal had just reached her sixteenth year as a flight attendant with Southwest Airline, turning the corner and striving forward to become a tenured employee of twenty years, with the airline.
As 2020 came to a close, unfortunately, her world came to an abrupt halt. She had just moved past recovering from covid and was on her way of getting back to flying, when she suffered a serious back injury in her L4 and L5 vertebrae. The L4 & L5 are the two lowest vertebrae of the lumber spine. The L4 & L5 spinal motion segment, provides many functions, most importantly, supporting the upper body and allowing trunk motion in multiple directions.
Now of course, with this serious injury, she was completely sidelined. The first several months were a collection of appointments from one specialist to another, trying to achieve some type of pain management, all the while, not capable of being able to work. Every other week was one injection after another into her lower back, only relieving and allowing pain to subside for a matter of days. After she had exhausted all of her options, she was told that the only avenue to now go down, was back surgery.
It is now been a total of seven months in total, that she has been completely sidelined and two months since her surgery, that she has not been able to work, with still no positive word, on when she can return, to doing what she loves.
I am starting this go fund me page to help her in anyway I can. She has come a long way, but still has a bearable journey to go, with PT and many other roads of pain management.
Thank you!
