In June of 2023 we began negotiations to purchase a wonderful little business - a well established candy store here in Cedar Rapids. We used our savings to put down earnest money and began looking into business loans.  At the end of the month we experienced a family crisis and suddenly found ourselves blessed with raising two of our grandchildren.  In the process of all that my husband had left his job to start training at the candy store,  and we had to keep our shifts separate so someone was always with the kids.  When the loan came through it was not enough to cover operating costs as well as part of the business.  Everything has been a mix of blessings and chaos,  meetings,  court hearings, therapy,  and just trying to stay afloat in our everyday lives.  Now we are at the point where everything is at a standstill due to finances.  We need help.  I hate asking for help,  so this is a last resort for us.  We can't afford to pay bills for our home and the business and we're afraid we are going to lose it.  A lot of hard work and study and training and love have gone into this little shop.  If anyone can help,  please do.  Thanks for taking the time to read this.
