Teachers give. Time, effort, love, among other things. To children who aren’t theirs, whose names time will erase, but whose stories are never forgotten. Through long days, endeavors unseen. Igniting change, one student at a time. All this effort, often at the expense of their own families, without overtime pay, neglecting themselves, and sacrificing for their students. Spark by spark, spreading knowledge, strength, and the hope for a stronger future.
Luisa Escorcia Hindmarch is one such excellent teacher. She has dedicated her life to her profession, teaching thousands of students and spreading her love and passion for history. She taught for 15 years at William B. Travis High School in Richmond, Texas and has now taken her talents to St. Agnes Academy in Houston. The community she will build there will feel her impact for years to come, just as at THS.
Mrs. Hindmarch has ovarian cysts. She is having surgery at M.D. Anderson for removal of these and a formal diagnosis upon biopsy. Disease is a darkness, casting doubt and fear over the light of our minds, hiding in places unseen and lying in wait, hoping to be forgotten. We are blessed to live in the best medical center in the world, but that comes at a cost- one not feasible to teachers.
So, here comes the ask. Let’s take this light and shine it on the Hindmarches. If you can give in any way, please do. This is the page for financial support, but the Hindmarches are also in need of prayer, and notes of love and encouragement.
