Hi, I am Pastor Sheila Hickland, 69 years old whom has a background and founding of Hickland Ministries. Hickland Ministries, Inc is designed to encourage people to grow in their faith in Christ, to develop and strengthen intimate friendships with others, and to provide opportunities to serve and reach our community of Christ. Our purpose is to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of people through various “acts of kindness” within different communities. Our Ministry has touched many lives since our foundational existence. Prime examples of our ministry’s effectiveness transpire through how many have come to know the Lord more in their lives; especially via workshops, spiritual development, and the empowering work of unity amongst those who have taken part in the body of Christ.
The vision for Hickland Ministry’s shelter stems from a combination of my own life’s testimony and my prior work as a Chaplin in the Cook County jail. The vision for this homeless shelter is to provide multiple resources (with help of other partners) under one roof that will give back to the underserviced communities, those of the homeless population and individuals out of prison. Some details we want to include in the shelter that will come to life on behalf of your donation are as follows: give lifestyle resources for people to adapt back to society, have options for food, clothing and somewhere to sleep.
We are asking politely that you donate anything possible to contribute to the birthing of this vision. Upon this donation, we will provide you with a receipt of your contribution. It is greatly appreciated that as a member of our community you are a part of this gran project to help the less fortunate.
