If you move through the event and camp world—whether you know me personally or have simply enjoyed the spaces, stages, and infrastructure built behind the scenes—you’ve likely stood on ground I helped lay. For years, I’ve poured my sweat, physical labor, and operational background into building up communities like Black Rock City, Camp Bisous and many other regionals and events.
Right now, that physical labor has caught up with me in the worst way possible.
I have suffered a major, life-threatening relapse of my Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). I am currently undergoing an intensive medical overhaul and treatment plan under Dr. Ullah and his team at UC Davis. The directive from my doctors is absolute: I must immediately step back from the heavy physical labor and high-stress operational work I have always relied on to survive.
To compound this medical crisis, I’ve simultaneously been forced into a sudden residential move. I am currently without a reliable vehicle to make the critical, regular trips to my oncology team at UC Davis, and my body simply cannot handle the grueling physical work required to bridge the financial gap.
Even while navigating this storm, I refuse to give up my long-term goal. I am fighting to establish my custom gear and utility pouch project (S.I.A.S. / Say It Ain’t Sew), with a mission built right into its core: for every purchase made, a comfort pouch is gifted directly to someone undergoing cancer therapy.
It is creative, meaningful work that I can safely manage from home while following doctor's orders. But to survive the next 6 months while I get this disease back under control, I need a basic safety net to keep a roof over my head and a car that won't break down on the way to the hospital.
Where the Funds Are Going
I am asking our broader community—especially those in a position to throw real support behind a builder who has given years to these spaces—to help me raise $13,500 to cover the non-negotiable hurdles of the next 6 months:
🚗 $4,000 – Reliable Transportation: A dependable vehicle to ensure I can get to and from UC Davis appointments safely, without breaking down or worrying about weather and mechanical failures.
🏠 $6,000 – 6 Months of Rent ($1,000/mo): Securing stable housing so I can focus completely on beating this leukemia without the threat of displacement.
🛡️ $3,500 – Medical Travel & Living Buffer: A modest 6-month cushion for basic everyday bills, groceries, and travel expenses to my oncologist while my work capacity is forcibly sidelined.
