NICOLAS WILL NEED BRAIN SURGERY ❤️
My 9-year-old son, Nick, suffered a brain hemorrhage caused by the rupture of an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). He spent more than two weeks in the ICU, and since then, our lives have completely changed.
Thankfully, Nick has made incredible progress. He is home, working hard in physical therapy, and getting stronger every day. ❤️
But his journey is not over.
Nick will need brain surgery in mid-October to treat the AVM, followed by another important period of recovery and rehabilitation.
We are in the United States, and Nick does not have health insurance here. His care has included ambulance transportation, emergency treatment, more than two weeks in the ICU, hospitalization, physical therapy, medical appointments, medications, and now brain surgery and post-surgery recovery.
The medical costs are reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars, and we cannot do this alone.
This situation has also had a major impact on our family financially. I went two months without income while caring for Nick, and his mother had to leave her job in Brazil and come to the United States to help care for him so that I could gradually return to work.
I want to be completely transparent because I understand the responsibility that comes with accepting help from other families. Every contribution will be used to help cover Nick's medical treatment, surgery, rehabilitation, and the expenses directly related to his recovery.
