For the past two years, my stepdad Jeph has faced an incredibly tough battle with kidney failure. Watching him endure dialysis treatments, knowing how much they took out of him, was heart-wrenching. Meanwhile, my mom, Julia, has been his steadfast support, always by his side with unwavering strength and love. It's been a difficult journey for our family, but hope arrived in the most beautiful way.
Just last Monday, on August 3rd, Jeph received the incredible gift of a kidney from his son, Kaleb McEwan. This generosity has given us all a new sense of relief and optimism. Seeing the light return to Jeph's eyes and the joy it has brought to my mother is indescribable. Though the surgery brought hope, it also brought new expenses and challenges that my family is striving to meet together.
