Dajia DeJesus is a sweet, smart, beautiful 16-year-old girl struggling with Thyroid cancer. Her treatment includes a daily trip to the hospital for Radioactive Iodine Therapy.
The good news is Daija has caring, kind parents who work their tails off to support her and her family. We see them every day, as they serve us at the catering line with smiling faces and a warm greeting.
However, they reached a breaking point recently when the catalytic converter was stolen from their car. Forced to replace the converter, and rent a car, (so Daija can make her daily hospital visits) Daija’s parents have incurred an unexpected $5000 in additional bills - using up their Christmas money.
To date, Dajia has had her thyroid and 4 tumors removed. The Radioactive Therapy is so powerful it has made her Radioactive...thus a Danger to her family. As a result, Dajia is sequestered in her room with no human contact. No hugs from her Mom & Dad. No playing board games with her little brother to pass the time. Just 24/7 isolation until her treatment is discontinued.
Some kids will be upset Santa didn't bring the Gift they asked for. By contrast, Dajia will spend the Holiday alone in her room… as she fights for her Life.
When I learned of all this, I had to help…and I am hoping you will find it in your heart to do the same. We can’t take all their struggles away, but we can at least help them buy Christmas Gifts....Gifts that could help Daija occupy her time, and hopefully lift her spirits, until this nightmare is over.
This beautiful, young girl has endured pain and fear no 16-year-old should encounter.
Please Donate to the DeJesus Family so that her parents can at least give her a semblance of a normal Christmas.
