Together, We Can Build a Culture of Consent

At PASS (People Advocating Safe Sex), our mission is clear: to foster a culture of consent and sexual safety that empowers individuals, protects victims, and ensures that safe sex becomes a societal standard.

We approach this mission with a three-pronged strategy:

  1. Comprehensive Education: Equipping individuals with the knowledge to recognize and practice affirmative consent.
  2. Community Support: Providing resources and networks for survivors and their families to heal and thrive.
  3. Legislative Advocacy: Working to implement policy changes that reduce sexual assaults and protect victims nationwide.

Why PASS Exists

Sexual safety is not just a conversation—it’s a necessity. Yet, statistics paint a stark picture:

- Nearly half of all Americans lack access to federally recommended sexual education.

- Over 433,600 incidents of sexual assault occur each year in the U.S.

- On college campuses, more than 26% of women report experiencing sexual violence

These numbers aren’t just data points—they represent lives irreversibly altered by the failure to prioritize consent and safety.

A Mission Rooted in Action

The idea for PASS was born from personal experience. Our founder witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of a culture that disregards consent. When a close friend was drugged and assaulted, both the victim and the advocate faced retaliation, slander, and a long, painful battle with an oppressive system.

Our goal is to create a culture of consent and sexual safety that is so deeply woven into the fabric of society that it becomes second nature—a standard that no longer requires advocacy or enforcement.

In this culture, everyone, regardless of age, gender, or background, understands and respects the principles of affirmative consent. Comprehensive education on sexual safety is universally accessible, equipping individuals to communicate clearly, set boundaries confidently, and recognize when those boundaries are crossed.

It’s a society where survivors are met with compassion and support rather than skepticism or blame, and where systemic barriers to justice and healing are dismantled. A place where no one fears retaliation for speaking up, and where communities rally to protect the vulnerable rather than enabling harmful behaviors through silence or inaction.

This vision isn’t just aspirational—it’s achievable. By fostering understanding, building empathy, and driving systemic change, we believe we can create a world where consent and sexual safety are fundamental, celebrated values, ensuring a brighter, safer future for everyone.
