(Our Beautiful sister Lacey, Pictured above is from 1st trip to Mexico for treatment)

10.05.23

Most who have met Lacey knows she burns with a fire and a passion for Jesus, which makes her love people genuinely and unconditionally. Her presence makes you feel like you're the only one in the room. Unless she shares her testimonies, you would never have guessed she struggles with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Her smile and how she carries herself is like she's living her best life.

We are asking for funds to extend her life. At this point in her up and down journey with cancer, we really don't know what's going to happen, but we are praying Jesus will heal our dear sister!

For some background, Lacey was first diagnosed November of 2018, with a 2nd diagnosis July 2021. She underwent two surgeries in March 2019 and April 2019 and all of the cancer was removed.

As a single mom of two, she was pressured into getting chemo and radiation to avoid risk of death. She underwent 3 rounds of chemo in June 2019 (before her 40th birthday) and ended up with Steven Johnson Syndrome (SJS) July 2019. This is a rare drug reaction where she describes "like I was burning from the inside. It felt like my skin was melting off."

Lacey received radiation end of 2019 for 6 weeks, which wasn't as bad as SJS but felt like a daily sunburn. She went on to have a cancer free year in 2020. Paid off all medical bills, restored her credit and bought her first house as a single mom.

(1st day chemo, pictured above)

(pictured above were reactions from SJS)

Her 2nd diagnosis came shortly after she miscarried twins in July 2021, she found out breast cancer came back & metastasized in her armpit and near her clavicle. Due to the horrible side effects of the first chemo treatment at a high dose, it was recommended she would be treated with 26 rounds of low dose chemo in 2022, which resulted in 5 benign tumors & 5 malignant tumors in her liver (which were miraculously healed - another story to tell sometime later).

(Above picture: Tumor scan of armpit July 2021)

In August of 2022, doctors tested the rest of her tumors (armpit & clavicle) against different chemo treatments and there were no changes or healing response. The doctors said there was nothing more they can do. By Thanksgiving, Lacey woke up to 5 new  inflammatory tumors on her breast.

Due to severe adverse reactions, she stopped these treatments and sought alternative, more holistic care. The best option she found was through Mexico and would cost a fraction of what the US would charge.

With help from friends, funds were raised for her first Mexico trip, and she was able to go in March of 2023. She was there for 3 weeks and received incredible results. Six tumors fell off her body!

(Above: Prior to March 2023 Treatments in Mexico)

(Above pic: AFTER March 2023 Treatments in Mexico)

After another a month or so, a couple of tumors were still there, and God miraculously covered funds a 2nd time to Mexico for 1 week.

(Above pictures: After One Week of Treatments In Mexico in July 2023)

Today, as I am writing this for my dear sister, she is struggling physically and she carries her struggle with the Lord's strength. Little does she complain about what she is going through, and every battle she has faced through this journey has been all to God's glory. Lately, our conversations have been difficult as she sometimes says she is "ready to see Jesus any day."

I am writing on behalf of Lacey as an act of faith to raise an initial $14,000/month for a minimum of 3 weeks of treatment in Mexico (doctor recommended 6 weeks), plus continuous monthly Mexico treatments, as doctor orders.

Most of us don't want to see her go! The cancer has gotten progressively worse and she replies that she can feel the pain throughout her body and through her bones. These are photos from today 10/06/2023 =(

As you can see the tumors have rapidly spread and the skin is raw to the touch. She is bandaging it everyday and taking supplements, but a more aggressive holistic approach is needed. The need is URGENT and we are hoping she can fly out this month per doctor's orders. He needs to see her ASAP.

We have an anonymous donor who is willing to match up to $10,000 for the first month! Total cost of treatment will be close to $24K. Therefore, only $14,000 is asked for this next round of treatments. Of course, more may be needed as we don't know the Lord's plans, and we will continue to trust in the Lord's provision as time goes by.

The funds will help towards:

  • $6000/week Medical, includes weekday food for her +caregiver
  • $300 for body scan
  • $910/week for hotel
  • $100/week for additional weekend food
  • $180/month for bandages
  • $400/month for medication
  • $1800 Roundtrip airfare for Lacey + son + caretaker (possible donor for airfare miles, will update if we have this expense covered)
  • $200 Miscellaneous expenses

Lacey expressed that her 17 year old son will need to be with her for emotional support and she will need a caretaker for physical support.

No donation is too little or too small. We want what's best for Lacey's body considering the past history she has had. She is ready for whatever it is the Lord has in store for her, and whatever battle she faces, it is inspiration that her faith has not wavered! In fact, it's only been increasing a new levels! We are praying and hoping she leaves this month in October.

Thank you ahead of time, thank you in advanced for helping in whatever way you can - whether it's sharing this post or sowing into her life, we appreciate all of you!

God bless and Shalom,

Patty  Tower

***10.09.23 - updated campaign goal to $5000 to get Lacey to Mexico even if it’s a week to start. Will also update as people decide to give via other methods.

**I kindly ask and at the request of Lacey, please do not provide any unsolicited advice or suggestions about alternative cancer treatments that may have worked for you or a family member and friend you know. Most likely she has tried it all and it has been burdensome for her to see these messages and respond. Thank you!

Many changes have taken place since my last post on Lacey's bill of health. Her physical changes have taken a turn to where she is unable to walk more than a few feet without needing to rest or using an assisted piece of furniture.

She had a doctor's visit where the doctor estimated 6 months to live. The cancer has spread to her bones and her lymph nodes. Her hip is at risk of fracture. The tumors have grown. We don't know what God's plans are, but we continue to believe in His perfect will!

Some of the things we have been busy with getting here are:

  • PET scan and bloodwork from doctor to see where cancer has spread
  • filing paperwork for palliative and long term care
  • Dentist to have amalgams to remove heavy metal poisoning
  • Having friends and visitors come to take care of basic needs like going to/from appointments, light housework, yardwork, meal prep, & pet care until long term care is established.
  • Paperwork started to obtain occupational and physical therapy

We are continuing to believe that God will provide funds to go to Mexico. Things have changed drastically since I initially posted the campaign, it has become more apparent that a week's worth of treatment in Mexico will not be enough.

We were hoping to go right away, but felt led to see a doctor here in the US would help with immediate needs, such as the daily life she has here. Just this week she was able to receive wound care from a nurse and is waiting on the Lord to provide bandages through her insurance. She has also received help from a neighbor with a gift of a wheelchair and walker to get around her house. God keeps on providing!

When she goes to Mexico, we know that she will have to face physical challenges such as sitting upright on an airplane seat and needing to be wheeled in a wheelchair to get around. Others who have experiences in her similar condition have testified needing to be in Mexico for a minimum of 6 weeks. We are asking for 3 and have anticipations it might be more. This we do not know.

We are waiting on the Lord for timing and are grateful that she is still strong in Spirit and mind. Her earthly body may be failing her but her spiritual body is carried by God's strength.

We are filled with gratitude and are in awe of what so many have you have done through your generous giving. No matter how big or small the seed, God sees the love you have poured to Lacey and she definitely feels loved by the community that has helped her get through this battle. Thank you again and again.

Praise the Lord! Thankful and grateful to each of you who have generously poured your prayers, resources, and money into helping our dear sister Lacey get to Mexico for the first week. We have raised enough to get her there for a minimum one week and will need more funds for her to receive continuous treatments.

Thank you for those who have stood in faith with me and her that her purpose her on earth is not done yet! We appreciate each and every one of you! While she's already walking out her purpose right from her bed, we are hoping and praying there is more. Please let there be more Lord!

She is currently in communication with hotel and clinic for her arrival. Will keep you all posted!

Lacey’s recent ER visit stemmed from the amount of pain she was in. The visit was hard on her physically. She waited 7 hours before she was checked in. She went through 3 different scans and waited 3.5 hours to received negative test results of blood clots (PTL!). However, she still deals with pain and her cancer continues to spread. She has upgraded her bandages. She is extremely vulnerable by sharing these photos publicly and it’s only because she knows it is important to her ongoing testimonies. Please continue to pray for God’s will, provision and protection. We have raised just over 40% for a portion ($5000) of the Mexico funds. We thank you in advance for all those who have generously donated, whether it was $5 or more. We don’t know everyone’s financial situation and $5 could be a lot for some. So thank you thank you 🙏🏽 God sees you and He honors your cheerful giving.

Lacy‘s tumors are spreading at a rapid rate on her breast. She is having to increase the size of her bandages. She continues to be in immense pain with surges of pain throughout her body from head to toe. She just checked herself into ER, so please lift her up in prayer and pray for God‘s Healing throughout her body. Pray for God to show up in his provision in providing treatments for her to go to Mexico. Pray her son doesn’t become an orphan in this hour. we are still in need of funds. If you feel led to donate to her campaign, we will be forever grateful!
