There's no way to describe this story in a few short sentences, but we must start somewhere. Our hope is that by telling our story, the world might hear us and listen to what we hope to achieve.
In April 2024, our lives seemed so much simpler. We had just moved onto our own piece of property and had just launched a brand new app business in Northern Arizona. Our mission? To connect rural Northern Arizona locals and small businesses to a new advertising solution that would connect people to resources and services they need to thrive. Just when we thought that things were going great, in an instant, our lives were turned upside down.
As we sat drinking our coffee and planning our day, 3 vehicles pulled up in front of our property and 3 men got out. They identified themselves as a County Code enforcement officer, a county Sheriff and an official from the Arizona Public Service Electric Company. The code enforcement officer called out our names and stated, "we are here to take your electric meter." Puzzled and bewildered because we knew we were current on our bills, we asked "why!?"
Without any warning; not even a phone call or a letter, they gave no valid reason other than we were "out of code compliance and did not have the proper permits." Right then and there, they took our electric meter off our pole and we were rendered homeless. Without any warning, any time to prepare, and no money to move to any place else, we attempted to gather the pieces of our lives. Then when my partner called her work to explain that she wouldn't be into work today, her employer fired her on the spot. In an instant, we were homeless, unemployed, and penniless.
Over the next 6 weeks, we sought answers, only to discover that we were caught in a web of lies and deceit at the hands of county officials and their friends who were using politics to divide our community and steal people's land for their own self interests. To maintain their power, they were punishing people who attempted to speak out. We discovered 100's of people who had been rendered homeless and silenced at the hands of these same "bad players." The louder we got about what we had experienced, the more dangerous our lives became. We were followed by law enforcement and those same "bad players" undermined our new app business by spreading lies about what we were hoping to achieve. Since the app had a news highlights reel, and they didn't want what they are doing to be exposed, so they caused an entire region of people to believe that we were "fake" and going to "scam them with our scandal thread."
So two weeks ago, at the end of our ropes and out of options, we put all of our belongings in storage, sold what we could, and we hit the road. Unsure of our future, we visited family and now continue to drive. We recognize that technology and media is being used as a weapon to divide people based on principles and values and something drastic needs to be done to wake people up to what is happening in the world.
Truth is, this political division is intentional to distract people from what is really happening and those who try to speak up are intentionally held silent by those in power. So we have decided to go to the place where technology and innovation hold the most importance in an attempt to cause this division to be seen and heard. Human connection and compassion have been lost in our society and we hope that by going to where it all began and sharing our story with the world, that we might inspire people to believe that positive change is possible and that we as people can reclaim what it means to inspire people to be better, think critically, and use technology as a force of good.
This is only the beginning of our crazy story. There are several chapters that we will continue to tell along our journey, but our hope is that we can gain followers who will join us in our mission to inspire human connection across the world. All it takes is the cost of a cup of coffee from friends and connections who believe in our cause and are willing to donate. All donations will go to helping us with gas and the costs of getting to Cambridge MA and NYC so that we can get this story told. Will you help the invisible be made visible by donating the cost of your latte today to our mission to elevate the voices of the untold who are being impacted by political division and media rhetoric?
Thank you.

the meantime, we could really use continued help and support to get back to AZ and get caught up. Please continue to share our story as it's the key to raising awareness around what is happening in the world. We never imagined we'd be houseless...but homelessness came at a time when we needed inspiration. Now we share our story in the hopes that others will see what we are doing and have hope that we, together, can create a better world.
