Hello friends and family! I am asking for support for my friend Kaitlyn. She would never ask for help so I am! She is a young, amazing single mom of two adorable little girls. This last year she has been struggling health wise and has finally received her diagnosis. While she isn't terminal, her health is causing other concerns. Kaitlyn has severe, progressive fiber neuropathy and dysautonomia presenting as critical extra-articular manifestations of her underlying rheumatoid arthritis. Her systemic autoimmune disease flared aggressively post-partum, bypassing her joints to actively attack her peripheral and autonomic nervous system. She experiences disabling orthostatic intolerance, severe nocturnal shaking, toe numbness, and profound muscle fatigue from basic tasks.
This is where we come in to help. Her treatments are costly and she has to get them done in patient but insurance helps with this. What I am asking support for is a service dog. With two girls under the age of 3, she needs additional support a service dog can help with. Insurance does not cover this. She has found a lab that will need intense training to assist her with her daily tasks as needed. Please share everywhere you can so we help this mom stay strong for her girls.
Love, Paige
