Hi! My name is Ghelatia Petros Araia and I am raising money for Miss America Scholarships as a part of the Miss America program. My local title is Miss Columbia Heights.

I recently graduated from New York University with an MPH Global Health degree. My journey in the health field began with the passing of my father and I'm using my personal experiences to go into the field of adolescent grief. Ultimately, my goals in life are to become a pediatrician and open a program in D.C. to mentor students who have experienced loss. Through your support and donations, these dreams can be possible!

The Miss America's Opportunity's mission is to "prepare great women for the world, and to prepare the world for great women." One of the ways we do this is by providing scholarship assistance - from the national competition, all the way to our local communities.
