Our parents, Rick and Paulette, have called Sunset Mesa home for 37 years. In October 2024, their fire insurance was canceled—like so many other Californians—and they have to rely on a state-subsidized emergency plan that barely begins to cover the devastation caused by the Palisades fire.
The fire destroyed their home, their belongings, and left them facing an uncertain journey ahead and overwhelming costs.
Our dad, Rick, has spent 40 years working six days a week, providing exceptional eye care to the Los Angeles community. Our mom, Paulette, is the heart of our neighborhood, a dedicated mom and friend who has always gone above and beyond to support others.
They would never ask for help themselves, so we’re asking on their behalf.
