India is being ravaged by the Covid epidemic with new and virulent strains. Scudder Memorial Hospital (SMH) in Ranipet, South India is playing a significant role in helping the local population dealing with this crisis. SMH was founded over 100 years ago by an American Medical Missionay and is dedicated to providing quality medical care for the underprivileged in this part of India. Janet and I have been associated with this hospital for years and have supported them by shipping medical supplies donated by Orphan Grain Train.
The chronic need for oxygen has disrupted the treatment and care of patients. SMH is currently in the process of building their own oxygen concentrator unit on their campus so they can get a reliable of supply of oxygen for their patients. The funds raised through this campaign will be used for the building of this facility on their campus. Work has already begun to expedite this project.
I can personally attest to the credibility of SMH and the work they do. Janet and I have visited this hospital several times.
