On November 17, 2006, Donald "Pookie" Vaughn, was wrongfully convicted of the murder of his childhood friend, Matthew "Mitch" Glover. The State of Iowa built its case on circumstantial evidence and the unreliable testimony of the very man last seen with Mitch alive. No physical evidence ties Donald to the crime.
For nearly two decades, Donald had fought for his freedom, filing appeal after appeal, only to be denied at every turn. New technology and new investigative methods could finally expose the truth, but justice costs money.
We are raising funds to cover:
• Attorneys: Kathleen Zellner, Mark O'Mara, and Smith & Vinson Law Firm known for high profile wrongful conviction and criminal defense cases.
• Crime Scene Reconstruction Experts: Visual Law Group, use photogrammetry (3D scanning) to recreate the crime scene in intricate detail for courtroom visualization. J.S. Held Consulting, offers animations, graphics, and interactive VR environments to illustrate complex forensic findings, which could stand up in court and expose what really happened.
• Private Investigator: Scott Gratias, a specialist in uncovering hidden truth.
Donald has already lost twenty years of his life to a wrongful conviction. With your support, we can give him a real chance to come home.
Every dollar brings us closer to justice. Every share helps spread the truth. Please stand with us - because justice delayed is justice denied.
