After doing my best to get out of the hole I recently found myself in, I now am asking for help.  As someone that has been able to walk through a variety of issues, I now find myself without much options.

Back story...

My car has been impounded due to expired registration.

Registration that I have been trying to get up to date, however due to an error on CarMax's end when I purchased the car, I was unable to pay my registration without paying $4k and climbing fees that the previous owner has acquired.

The license plate assigned to my car is on the current vehicle of my cars former owner. My license plate is essentially dealer plates CarMax failed to take off.

The fees are due to the previous owner running red lights, not paying toll fees, parking in crosswalks, etc.  These fees are increasing by the weeks.

I have called and visited the DMV and they requested that I dispute all the charges with City of San Francisco, Bay Area Transit and Golden Gate Transit respectfully. Unfortunately all of those jurisdictions require disputes to be in writing, and have asked for a police report.

Unfortunately between my two full time jobs(Housing Case Manager for an emergency homeless shelter and Hospitality Lead at a local restaurant) I have not had the time to drive up to San France to file a police report to continue with the disputes.

After explaining this conundrum to the CHP officer today, he decided he was still going to impound my car.

And that's where we are...

After getting laid off from both my software jobs last year, and being unemployed for about 4 months last year, my credit isn't really in a position to support my approval for a personal loan.

So I'm doing something I rarely do and that is ask for help.  Peeling back the curtain of my life to expose that my life isn't perfect.  After overcoming everything life has thrown me, I'm still walking through even more mud.

CarMax didn't help.

DMV didn't help.

CHP didn't help.

I'm kindly asking my community for help.

I need to identify funds to be able to clear up my registration with the DMV(and likely the old owners fees tied to my name), confirm my registration has been paid with the CHP office in Santa Ana and then visit the tow yard in Brea to pay the daily storage fee and get my car back.

My goal is to complete this as quickly as possible to return to my two jobs I worked so very hard to obtain before Tuesday of next week.  The tow charges go up $100/day and I risk losing both jobs the longer I'm unable to get to work.

Unfortunately Lyft/Uber to work(s) is about $130 per day and there aren't any doable bus schedules to Fullerton from Tustin and to Aliso to support my work schedule.

If there are any left over funds from any donations I am fortunate enough to receive, I will use them to support the women in the shelter that I work to help them get on their feet as well.

I thank you in advance for reading and any donations or positive vibes, energy and prayers. ❤️

I appreciate you. 💕🙏🏽😖
