Hello, my name is Joseph Rubino. On May 27 2026 my life changed in an instant. I was hit by an unlicensed and uninsured motor vehicle while on my motorcycle.
Although blessed to be alive, I sustained life altering injuries. I was life star to Hartford Hospital. I underwent many surgeries and was in the hospital for 30 grueling days. I was able to go home a few weeks while recovering, until I got the heartbreaking news that I had to get my left leg below the knee amputated.
Since then, I have been facing not only the physical pain and emotional shock of this trauma, but also the overwhelming challenges that come with rebuilding my life day by day. What happened has affected every part of my routine, my independence, and my ability to keep up with basic expenses while I focus on healing.
Now I am working hard to recover, rehab, and navigate this new life with disability. I have been out of work since the accident. It will be months until I am evaluated to see if I can even return to my position with accommodations for my disability.
The support from this fundraiser will help me cover the many costs ahead, including medical bills, rehabilitation, prosthetics, and everyday living expenses. Recovery is going to be a long road, and I know I cannot do it alone. I am full heartedly asking for your support as I work to heal, adapt, and move forward after this devastating accident. Any help you can give, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, would mean so much to me. I am deeply grateful for your kindness, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
