On Saturday, July 11, 2026, our dear friend Peter "PJ" Amato was involved in a tragic swimming accident that left him with a severe brain injury. Despite the efforts of his medical team, he has shown no brain activity and remains on life support.
On Thursday, July 16th, PJ will be surrounded by his loved ones as he takes part in his Honor Walk before being removed from life support. Even in his final moments, PJ's selflessness will continue to shine through as he fulfills his wish to be an organ donor, giving the gift of life to others.
If you had the privilege of knowing PJ, even for a short time, you know what an incredible person he was. He was fun-loving, goofy, genuine, and had the biggest heart. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation and was always willing to help anyone in need.
We have created this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on his mom, Leslie, as she faces funeral expenses, while also creating a future fund for his two beautiful children, Peyton and Genevieve. Every contribution will help provide for their future needs, and offer a measure of security as they grow up without him.
