My mom got really sick in January of this year. She has had to go to doctors appointments several times a week and the local specialist she has been sent to have done little to help her. She had a routine procedure in January and since then every time she eats she is in excruciating pain to the point of being sick. She tries to hide it but we can see it on her face. The doctors have here on about ten different medications and has to take twenty to thirty-five pills a day just to try and keep food down that doesn't include the medication they give her for the pain she is in, which she suffers through so she can be available to us kids incase of an emergency. My mom has always been there for us kids no matter what, her smile and warmth has always been able to lite up a room. She somehow has time to be there for all four of us all the time. She's the mom that sleeps in a chair 9 months pregnant because one of her other kids are sick and wants to be by their side. There were many nights she slept on the floor next to our beds because one of us had bad dreams or was sick. My mom Cassandra has found a way to help us all with homework, work overnights and still make it to all of our games and school events over the years. If two of us had things going on at the same time she would be on a video chat to make sure she was there to support us both at the same time. My mom is the type of person who helps everyone she can and she still trys too.
However, lately I've seen how worn out she is, her smile is weaker, she has little to no energy and her hope is fading. She has been referred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota but is thinking about allowing herself to suffer longer to make sure her kids are taken care of. See we don't have much and you would never be able to tell because my parents always make sure we have what we need.
That being said we are not on the verge of living on the street and we are by no means rich, but we do get by. However, my siblings and I have decided to try and help raise money so our mom, our hero can get the medical treatment she needs. We want to see the glimmer of hope back in her eyes. Please help us raise the money to get her to Minnesota so she can get the treatment she needs, so we can have our happy healthy mom back.
