Hi everyone, my name is Makenzie De Leon and I’m reaching out for help during a really difficult time. Right now, my car has been impounded by New York City, and they’ve already started charging me $10 per day for storage. I’m currently on day one, and after the first three days, the fee increases to $15 per day until I can pay off the total balance. Every day that passes makes it harder for me to get my car back, and I’m doing everything I can to fix this situation before it gets worse.
Due to a lack of guidance and understanding of how serious parking and traffic tickets could become, I’ve unfortunately accumulated about $3,500 in tickets in New York City. The city now has full possession of my case, and I’m required to pay this balance in order to get my car released and get back on the road. My case number is 251 014 0695
As a 24-year-old college student and Behavioral Therapist ABA (Applied Behavioral Analyst), I take full accountability for my actions and the decisions that led me here. Every time I received a ticket, I truly wanted to pay it, but I didn’t have the funds. When I finally did, I had other priorities like rent, tuition, or bills that had to come first. Over time, those unpaid tickets added up and became overwhelming.
I recently contacted 311, and the representative confirmed that this is not a bench warrant, which I’m extremely thankful for. If it were, I could have faced arrest or jail time, which would have completely disrupted both my degree and my career helping children and families. I’m grateful that my situation can be resolved financially, even though it’s still a large amount. Right now, I’m not working, but I’m expected to start a new job next week. Unfortunately, this ticket debt and impound situation are preventing me from driving to my clients and continuing the work I love. I’m not asking for sympathy, just for a little help getting back on track. Any amount you can give will go directly toward paying off the ticket balance and getting my car released so I can return to work and continue making a difference in others’ lives. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can give, whether that’s a donation or a simple share. Every little bit helps me get closer to moving forward responsibly. 💛
