I hate that I'm doing this. This isn't us. We don't ask for hand outs. It feels dirty. But, we are hurting. Bills are coming due, mortgage is due, car payments, and Eli's paycheck alone won't cover it. The truth is, I've been out of work, unpaid for the better part of a month and it isn't over. Our babies contracted RSV from daycare mid-July and with both being sick, I stayed home with them. Being in such close contact, I ended up with RSV within a week and although I tried taking every safe supplement possible, my asthma cause the RSV to turn into pneumonia with me. I made myself go back before I felt better and literally 10 minutes after clocking in for my first shift in weeks, the daycare called to tell me Julie had been exposed to a COVID positive child in her infant class. The entire infant class was sent home on quarantine. I had a plan, parents would watch her, we could work..... and then she started developing symptoms of COVID. I got her tested Sunday after a few days of cough, diarrhea, fever, restlessness, congestion, runny nose and fatigue. She tested positive. I couldn't expose my immune-compromised mom and dad or MIL and FIL. So I have been home with them all week. Isaiah also has been home on quarantine now since he's always playing with her. Now he has a cough. Now my cough is worsening and I have a sore throat and headache. I'm terrified that I we all have covid now. I've only had one vaccine since I got so sick between vaccines. And I'm still on unpaid leave from work.
