"Easier said than done". We need to lift up those that feel stuck to the ground! Abuse is never the answer. My dear friend was verbally and physically abused to the point that she was contemplating jumping out of a second story window. The only thing that kept her from doing so was the thought of broken legs and not being able to get away. Fearing her abuser would kill her. No way to get away. She endured hours of this and was almost killed by the person she had, at one point, seen a future with. This abuse has been on and off for way too long. She has found the strength to leave only after knowing her abuser was locked up and facing multiple felonies. He tried to kill her. He choked her. While doing so he told her, " This is how you sleep", she genuinely thought she was going to die by the hands of the man she loved with everything she had. I am only one person and need support to lift her up! Please, consider what you would do if you knew someone in this situation. It is going to take time for her to be OK. And that's a hard place to get to. I ask that you find it in your heart to support my best friend. Every little bit will help her to start fresh. She is currently getting medical attention and unable to work. Removing some of the financial burden she is strapped with will help support the process of helping her recover. Thank you for taking the time to read this. My hope is that she has the tools to become independent and regains the ability to trust again.
