studio 586b is a grassroots community of creators and communicators coming together to give a voice to the voiceless. It is our honest belief that one of the most powerful acts we can take in changing the world is making people feel more seen, not for the many masks we all wear, but for the people we really are. We do this by creating a space to listen and to ask. Whether it be our podcast (Where's the Line) or our interview work (10Q) or even our work in music, we have always tried to hear people's stories from their perspective and however they have brought them to us.
We would like your help in launching a studio with a unique goal, hear as many stories as possible, ask as many questions as possible, experience as many perspectives as possible; a recorded patchwork of the diversity of humanity. Help us hold a mirror up to the people of the world, we truly believe you will be surprised and delighted by who you see.
We have worried and fretted over ways to ask for this support. Asking for help is not a task found easy in my culture, but I need to ask. I (mat) believe what we are doing is meaningful. I have stumbled often over how to communicate what we do. We see people, and if you believe that is a worthy project, we need the seed money to complete the important legal aspects of creating a properly incorporated non-profit.
