So, many of you "know" me and my cancer story. Two weeks ago I was using a walker, cane, oxygen, and all the poison drugs to deal with the extent of the spread. When I read the PET Scan report and looked at the images(I do have a medical background)I was shocked. After being told NED(No Evidence of disease) to you are really scr*wed was extra. Turns out they based no disease just on the fact I've done treatment-not how that works. My oncologist was super negative(according to him I'd already be dead). Well, I kinda melted down.
After over 4 years of meds, hospitalizations, chemo, radiation, butchered surgery, partial loss of use of my left arm, aging 10 years, pain insomnia, general malaise..... I gave up. I gave all my very favorite things away, as I refuse to suuport Goodwill in any fashion. I got rid of most of my shoes and clothing. I did nothing. Dropped out of ASCC(oh I was soooo looking forward to that; I bawled my eyes out). Dropped Network+. Stood down from my Plant Based Life Club(I want it back). stopped posting my inspirational, educational, silly quizzes, etc on Hangout Channel.
I sold my truck and used that money to go on "my last trip to beach".
I got there on the 18th of May. Loaded the 40 foot trailer(two bed, two bath, outdoor kitchen-all the bells and whistles). I was in Oceano, California. First thing I did was go see the dunes. I took of my shoes and fully enjoyed that sand on my feet. it was invigorating. The closest dune was probably 40 feet tall. Mind you, I cannot get dressed without sitting down to do it and gasping for air. But something.-I don't know what-happened. i chanced it. I climbed it. NOT out of breath!!!!!
As the days went on I was able to take stairs not with both feet but with one at a time(also RV stairs are gnarly). I was able to open jars(my left hand was in a fist but now opens to 90%!)ziplocs, bottles doors etc.....Seems small, but it's huge. I was "doing work" and things I couldn't do a few days before. Even the strangers next door noticed and commented on the nearly immediate 180 degree turn. By early this week I was walking nearly 3 miles unassisted on the sandy beach and picking up a million shells and rocks. And running through the waves!!
I had a painting business that ad just started aking off and then the C monster came to stay and I had to give it up. I painted nine projects the 10 days I was there.(I hadn't painted in over 4 years). I journaled. My body felt great, my face killed from laughing and smiling so much. So, although I am dirt poor, I am moving there.
I have excellent credit and some income. I had crowdfunded for my dogs 10k knee replacements when I was unemployed and the universe did not fail me. So my art page was a part of that, and I will humble myself and do it again. My followers know my story and 'I blogged and vlogged all the ugliness that treatment entailed.
I would ever crowdfund here but ask if any of you would share the link on your socials, I'd appreciate it. Copy and paste this if you'd like. I need to get there sooner rather than later so I can revoke hospice and restart chemo.
I will continue updating everyone here and will begin my usual(or unusual) posts here in Hangout. I want to shout out all of you that have read this far. I wish to thank those of you who have been so supportive and loving. Calbright people-you know who you are-I love and appreciate you so very much. To the students, you are in the right place to succeed, fight, reach out! I personally will help in any way I can.
Calbright changed my life and my mistake was in allowing pain and depression to rule my life. I am back, better, stronger, and smarter than before. Just watch me. Feel free to message me. Funny stuff encouraged! xoxo love happiness peace hope. WATCH ME GO!!!!!!
