For those who don't know what happened 10 months ago I will have to give a small recap of the beginning of my last summer to truly understand the gravity of why this sucks.
Last year I had to move three hours south because the home I was living in flooded. I hired professionals, and found that it was infested with black mold. One battle with a realty group, a shitty lawyer, and a loss of all my things later and I did not come out on top. I certainly could not afford to keep up the legal battle, and set my eyes south to somewhere more quiet and affordable.
Now some useful information to understand the current home I am renting: My apartment is on a lot with multiple buildings. One of those is a dilapidated Victorian house that is slowly rotting away. One night a bad wind storm knocked down a tree near the Victorian which is a normal midwestern occurrence. That tree was on the lot of the Victorian but my landlord who owns both properties claimed I cut down the tree. Everyone I have spoke with agrees that he is likely trying to sell this property or is trying to move in himself.
What does that mean for me? Well, I have to move again. I barely got settled in and now I have to cough up the money I never even had a chance to make back with the last unexpected move. I am currently in the process of trying to sell everything I own for a second time and having a garage sale this upcoming weekend.
I am trying to get enough for some moving expenses and gas. I'm hoping by selling all my things I can come up with a new deposit and all the fees myself. Anything is helpful! If you can't donate then even a share can go a long way. I understand that in 2026 donating to anybody can be a matter of whether you pay your bills too. Thank you to all my friends for always being here for me emotionally and watch my crazy life unfold.Ā
The new joke is that I was not a luck build... but I do have a lot of charisma.
Much love,
Ollie
