Hello Community...
As some of you may know, this summer our family relocated for better opportunity, as well as safety, to our new home in Oklahoma. It was not an easy decision but we felt our family was no longer safe in California due to high crime in our neighborhood, an abuser in the family, as well as a complete lack of opportunity to move forward due to gentrification, a housing crisis, and natural disaster in our area (wildfires).
This spring we knew we'd have to figure out a way to move our family's essentail belongings. Uhaul had become near impossible to find in California due to the mass exodus occuring, so we decided to sell our older vehicle and obtain a truck. This way we could move our household AND have a work truck for my husband's new and better job. Mike has to commute 2-3 hours daily and is gone 10-12 hours a day. His work requires him to have a truck to haul tools and go from job site to job site.
It was an uneventful journey fro my husband and son from California to Oklahoma, until they hit Oklahoma City, 30 minutes from our new home. The truck had started violently shaking and devouring fuel. We had it checked out by two local mechanics and sadly, we need an engine rebuild.
We have been hanging on with the good graces of MIke's bosses, who let him temporarily us one of their father's trucks to commute every day. His job is a great one and we dont want to lose it because of transportation issues, and we are expected to have our truck fixed soon.
We are requesting donations to help us meet this need and integrate into our new community gracefully. Each donation will grant the donor some level of prepared meals or baked goods, or, alternately a wellness consult and accompaning botanicals with me.
