Hi everyone! I was told by some friends/family to make something to raise some money for Blue's procedure.

Here's what's going on:

A little over a month ago my dad & I noticed blue was starting to lose a little bit of weight. We didn't think much of it considering his age ( he just turned 9). As time progressed, the weight less was considerably more noticeable regardless from how much he ate or how many goodies we gave him. This past weekend our family decided to take a trip camping out of town. Blue of course joined us for the journey. While we were there, we noticed that it was taking an awfully long time for him to pee. So much so his old man legs were getting tired from standing so long! Highly concerning but also.. he's an old man now. We kept a close eye on him for the next few days on our trip. He was trying to pee every 45 minutes to an hour, also VERY unusual. So we are paying attention to every movement he made every little walk off or potty break, he was trying to go but nothing was coming out except dribbles. He was standing there trying to pee so much and so long (5-8 minutes straight) that he was eventually just peeing like a female dog and nothing was coming. He started pacing, you could tell he was so uncomfortable. Finishing full bowls of water BUT still eating drinking and able to pee somewhat & poop. His gums were nice & pink full of color. So we just continued to monitor him while camping for another night before coming home. Once we got home the behavior was still the same so we decided to make a few phone calls, got him examined by our local Mobile vet Dr. Torres (He's AMAZING btw). After taking his weight, we learned he lost 12 pounds total :( . Then was told after the rectal examination, his prostate was VERY enlarged, so big that he couldn't do a full sweep to feel the size of it. My poor bubba :'( The vet here let me know that an enlarged prostate is not unusual for a male dog his age especially being intact. But because it is so inflamed, it is causing him a boat load of more issues and the only relief would be neutering him.

On the 26th of this month I am having surgery on my ankle. I will be out of work for 6 weeks, because of this fund are really tight for this procedure. I was told that because of his age and size the procedure is going to cost more. Typically they surgeries are anywhere from 200-400 dollars. Since its more risky, we are looking anywhere from 500-900 dollars minimum. Its just not something I can afford on my own. :( Blue has been with me since my 18th birthday. This dog saved me in more ways than one, he has been my rock since my teens years and dealing with addiction, homelessness to getting on my feet with the help of family and friends, having my very own babies, dealing with toxic relationships, every single move I have ever made even across state lines, every single moment that broke me the loss of friends or family members ALL OF IT. He is everything to us & it hurts my heart so bad knowing he's this way. Please if anyone is able to help in anyway you have no idea how much it would mean to me, my dad and my kids. Blue has made so many friends in his life, so many people who have fallen in love with the good boy he is. Anything will help!
