Help! We are in crisis with homeless cats living on our streets in America! Feeding and vetting is falling on regular, everyday people who can least afford it. Often it is the retired community or stay at home moms trying to get help with these community cats. Shelters have begun turning animals away they are so full. Currently, I am desperately trying to assist several Feral and Stray Cat Caretakers absorb costs with both Dry and Wet catfood. Right now, so much is being done via wishlists on Facebook Posts in Feral Groups. I met a woman named Vanessa in LA, she is feeding 100+ TNR'd cats everyday! This is in a very sterile and industrial part of town where there are no neighborhood homes close. She is alone doing all of this out of pocket and before and after work. She works her full-time job and feeds ferals before and after. She has no relief, no-back up. No one to incur the heavy cost of numerous bags of dry food and cases of wet food. Wishlist is her only avenue and it is NOT consistent. She literally is a modern day Mother Theresa of Cats.
There are so many others like her feeding cats and kittens in their neighborhoods, working with TNR groups, Rescue groups, and mainly just regular community members, trying to support and help in some way.
I am in the process of planning the establishment and set-up of a Non-profit initiative called "Feed a Million Cat Project". I need to continue supporting these Caretakers and Set up shop. This is where this funding will go. I need money to also hire a grant writer for the food we need to purchase.
I plan on networking and negotiating reduced pricing with pet food companies and establishing food storage lockers as I can in order to get cat food to rescues, caretakers, and neighborhood volunteers.
If you can help, please donate at least $5 to help this ongoing effort. I cannot thank you enough!
