UPDATE AGAIN- even with the Public adjuster, Citizens is still denying our valid claim. Basically they are government run so we all know how that works. we have been without a kitchen since before Christmas and the end is nowhere in sight. Any amount will help and is GREATLY Appreciated 🫶🏼
UPDATE - we got a Public adjuster involved that will help us fight the insurance company, unfortunately it will still not be enough to replace the kitchen and bathroom so I am lowering our goal to hopefully cover what we will be left with! thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has donated here or sent us a donation elsewhere! last year, we FINALLY bought a house! We were so excited to start this journey. Little did we know a nightmare was about to begin! After a few months of moving in we all started having symptoms. The kids and anthony mostly respiratory. Courtney started having some weird neurological symptoms. Many ER visits and trips to different doctors with many tests being done, we couldn’t find what the issue was. Someone sent a video about mold toxicity to us when we realized that all of these symptoms lined up with exactly that. Searching high and low we noticed the lower kitchen cabinets that we rarely went into were extremely warped on the inside. So, we pulled one up and sure enough there it was!! MOLD. All under the bottom of our cabinets. We had mold testing done to find there are multiple different types of mold growing in the kitchen and our master bathroom that is right behind the kitchen. Leaving us to believe it stemmed from the bathroom. After hiring a mold company to come investigate and putting a claim into our homeowners insurance, we just found out that the claim is being denied because there isn’t enough evidence of “water damage” and if there’s no water damage then the mold coverage doesn’t get approved either. We truly don’t understand how they don’t see water damage because it’s quite obvious. But now we are left to figure out how to take care of this on our own. Unfortunately we have exhausted whatever funds we could use towards this. As much as it kills us to ask, we are asking for any amount of donation that you find in your heart that you’re able to and to please share our fundraiser as well!
