Afghan Tribes Descended from the Tribes of Israel
For many years, The Association for the Bani Israel from Afghanistan, an Israeli nonprofit, has been working with Afghan and Pakistani nationals from the Pashtun tribes. We focused on researching our common ancestry which is the 12 tribes of Israel. During these years we met and became friends with a lot of amazing people: Afghan government officials, journalists, pro-Western activists, and tribal leaders who openly opposed the Taliban.
Our Friends Being Hunted Down by the Taliban
When the government of Afghanistan fell in August 2021, former government officials, as well as those who worked for foreigners and those who raised their voices against the Taliban, became targets of the extremists; now their lives are in imminent danger. While some managed to escape, high profile individuals like our friends had a very hard time escaping due to the Taliban presence in the airport and checkpoints all over the country. Those who could be potentially recognized by the terrorists had to go into hiding and look for more creative ways to get out. We succeeded in coordinating one family's escape, but many more are still waiting.

The Association for the Bani Israel from Afghanistan is an organization led by Israeli Jews and Afghan Pashtuns. Our organization has no paid employees, nor are we taking any fees. 100% of donations are used for the purpose of helping the Pashtun people.
