The mission of the Climate Crisis Working Group (CCWG) is to study and share information about climate change and take effective climate action in Moore County and beyond. Our vision is to raise awareness and empower the nation, united in rapidly stemming the impact of climate change and building climate resilience in our country and across the world.
We have several action teams, and we participate in local tabling events. We have a website and a zoom account, and we hand out free reusable bags and printed brochures. We are not a 501c organization, just a local community group passionate about helping to solve the climate crisis. We produce a Weekend News Dump email newsletter containing links to actions, articles, events, legislation and other climate-related resources, to over 400 recipients.
We annually sponsor a free public screening of a climate-related movie at the local theater - Sunrise - in collaboration with other organizations, in August. The fee for the theater has drastically increased this year and we need $300 to cover that increase.
We also need funds to pay for participation fees, our website and zoom accounts, and printing expenses.
