Anyone that truly knows me, knows us, knows that I usually keep things close to the vest. However, in the last year, so much has changed, and I'm at my wits end.
In March of this past year, Michael was diagnosed with cancer, stage 2b hodgkins lymphoma. He is currently undergoing treatment for that. It exhausts him. He is still working as an active duty Navy sailor, but is on limited duty. We are looking at months more of chemotherapy. I have to drive him to and from treatments, as well as the week of chemo. Last August 2023, I was laid off of my job and unemployment has run out. It uses a lot of fuel to go back and forth to hospitals, various doctor appointments, and also to bring our daughter to school and back daily. I have had several medical issues as well pop up.
This economy is horrid, but we have been doing what we can.
In late August our home was broken into, and things specific to my daughter were stolen and destroyed. Due to bullying and other concerns, we switched school districts completely, and now her new school is further away. Wa state does early release, so one day a week is earlier than the other days. I need to pick up and drop her off too as she is an out of district student. Thankfully, she seems to be thriving, so this proves it was the right thing to do by switching schools.
I have dried up savings in groceries, fuel, bills, student loans for both of us, and I am applying for jobs daily. I have had several interviews, but so far no bites.
We will get through all of this by the grace of God. It has been a long, difficult, and trying year. If you are able to, or interested in it, please give so that we can somehow get back on our feet. It would be immensely appreciated. If not, please send some positive juju. We definitely need it.
