My husband and I have been married for 37 years, and together we have built a loving family with six children and ten wonderful grandchildren. Our lives were turned upside down recently when he was diagnosed with a rare invasive form of aspergillosis and SIADH. This diagnosis came as a shock to our family and has completely changed our lives. He spent three weeks in the hospital, including one week in the ICU, and there were moments when we feared we might lose him. The experience was overwhelming and frightening, but we are grateful that he is still with us and fighting to recover.
Due to his condition, neither of us is able to work right now, and I am his full-time caregiver. While this is temporary, his recovery is expected to take 6-12 months. The medical bills are mounting, and while some of his medications are covered, several are not and are quite expensive. We are also facing ongoing expenses for his treatment, daily living needs, and frequent trips to appointments that are an hour round trip. It has become difficult to keep up with these costs on our own, so we are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support during this incredibly tough time.
We are so grateful for any help you can offer. Asking for help is incredibly hard for us, but your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in our lives as we work toward his recovery. Thank you for being there for us and for keeping us in your thoughts.
