Hi everyone. My name is Ani and I'm making this fundraiser for my little sister Mariam who is 6. She was born with two heart defects. She has had two heart surgeries so far: the first when she was only two weeks old and the second when she was four months old. Both surgeries went according to plan, but rehabilitation after the second surgery was extremely hard for Mariam.
We were originally told that her third heart surgery would take place when she is between 10-11 years old, but recently, her heart has been giving her trouble, and she needs the surgery as soon as possible! For so long, we were told by doctors not to have hope that she would live as long as she has, but Mariam is a fighter and she continues to fight everyday for her place in this world. She is the strongest child I know and even though she's fighting, her heart is fighting against her just as hard.
We're asking for donations to fund her (hopefully) final surgery and the rehabilitation/recovery costs as well as follow-up visits. We've sold our small family home in the country of Georgia, but we're still left with a $6000 balance for everything. For Mariam, recovery and rehabilitation is always the hardest part, and we will need as much as help as possible.
