Hello, my name is Kristy McKinney.
I currently attend OU (University of Oklahoma), and I'm a music education major. Since 2023, I've been marching Drum Corps. I started marching for two years with Zephyrus Drum and Bugle Corps out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2023 and 2024. I took it up a notch and ended up having the greatest summer of my life with Genesis DBC. I continue to march because of the opportunity to gain information from world-class educators, and for the summer of 2026, I was given the chance to return to Genesis and grow some more with this program.
Drum Corps is expensive to say the least; it's not every day that you pay to go pro in your activity, but this is the reality of keeping a culture alive. Donating even one whole dollar or sharing this would mean the world to me and my chance of getting one step closer to my dream.
