A Decade of Resilience

Angela's journey of physical resilience began long ago. In 2013, she suffered a severe work-related injury that required major surgery to replace herniated cervical discs. Despite the intensity of that recovery, she pushed forward, continuing to work and provide as a single mother. For over 20 years, she has also balanced the daily demands of Type 1 Diabetes, always putting her family’s needs above her own physical toll.

Working Through the Unthinkable

The challenges have only been mounted in recent years. While enduring painful treatments to save her sight from diabetic detached retinas, Angela suffered a stroke in November 2024. Heartbreakingly, doctors discovered she had survived several previous strokes that had gone unnoticed. Demonstrating her incredible dedication, she showed up for her shift at the warehouse the very next day. She knew she couldn't afford to lose the income needed for her life-saving medications and co-pays.

A Turning Point

Despite her best efforts, the combination of end-stage kidney disease and the physical toll of her condition made warehouse work impossible. Because her health issues were pre-existing, she is no longer able to receive benefits from her employer.

Today, her life looks much different:

  • Dialysis: She recently underwent surgery for a peritoneal dialysis port and now undergoes treatment 5 times a week, for up to 8 hours each time.
  • The Goal: She is currently on the transplant list, awaiting a life-saving kidney and pancreas transplant.

Current Living: She has moved in with elderly family members to cut costs and receive basic in-home help, but this is a temporary solution.

How You Can Help

Angela is currently unable to work and spends her days either in dialysis or at doctor's appointments. We are raising funds to provide her with a safety net so she can focus on staying healthy enough to be there for her daughters and watch her grandchildren grow up.

Your donations will go directly toward:

  • Critical Medications & Co-pays: Ensuring she never has to skip a dose.
  • Outstanding Medical Bills: Easing the burden of past surgeries and treatments.
  • Transportation: Fuel and travel costs for frequent specialist appointments.
  • Housing Stability: Helping her secure safe, long-term housing suitable for a transplant recipient.

Angela has spent her life working hard and caring for others. Now, she needs our community to carry her so she can get back to the family that loves her so much. No amount is too small, and every prayer, share, and donation brings her one step closer to her new beginning.

Thank you for fighting with Angela.
