I am, and have been, an artist my whole life. I've been painting abstract art since I was four. I learned to paint all forms of techniques, mediums, subject matters, etc., but settled on abstract expressionism because of its infinite nature. My greatest inspirations...Jackson Pollock and the infinite detail of nature's smallest flora, i.e. mosses, lichens, algae, etc. and the certain patterns in which they grow.
I have been more interested in creating, than anything. But from the feedback I had been getting, I realized that I could make a living doing what I love to do most. I started Instagram sometime around 2018, and posted my art online on many websites (including my own-bartbairdstudios.com) even before that.
A few months ago, I got a letter from the Belgrade Cultural Association.
I was given the offer, sent in the application, and was selected to represent the US in this, Europe's number one art and cultural event of 2022.
My day job has been that if a painting contractor, and, since having moved (after being in Florida for 15 years), it's been a struggle to again build a decent life. A few months after moving back to Pennsylvania (my home for the first decades of my life), the pandemic hit, and it's been a struggle since.
I don't have the funds to make this life-long dream a reality, and time is pressing. It is my sincere hope that platforms such as this may help me achieve this.
