Hello, my name is Jocelyn Montiel and this GoFundMe is for my dog Rocky. His life has not been the easiest, he was paralyzed in his rear legs when he was 4 years old, yet he never let this stop him. He is 9 years old today and even with paralysis, you'd think he was still a puppy. He loves playing with his toys, non stop squeaking around our house, he loves going on walks and he is a sweetheart to everyone he meets. Recently he began coughing and we feared the worst, the vet said he has an enlarged heart with a grade 5 heart murmur, with fear of Congenital Heart Disease. As much as I would have loved to start him on medication and done x-rays then and there, money is tight as I currently have to pay for tuition to attend the University of California, Davis. I held off and instead went for trying out supplements on him, such as fish oil and Coq10. Which eased his cough for a few months and allowed him to get back to his normal self. Recently, his cough has returned and has taken a larger toll on him, whenever he gets up or becomes excited, he has a coughing fit. It hurts me to see him like this and I wanted to try one last resort effort to bring him a better quality of life. I dislike asking others for help, especially when it comes to money, but I would do anything for Rocky, which led me to come to start a GoFundMe for him. I set the goal to about $1,000 but I will alter this depending on the actual cost of his treatments. I hope to use this money towards X-rays, blood work, and heart medication for him. Any amount helps and we are super grateful to you for aiding his recovery.
