A Message from Amber, Granddaughter;
A few weeks ago, our family unexpectedly lost my uncle, Timmy, to undetected kidney cancer. It breaks our hearts knowing he was hurting in his final days. Because of this sudden loss, my elderly grandparents (both in their late 80s) have been left with his medical bills, plus the sudden weight of funeral and burial expenses. To make matters harder, we are currently facing painful bureaucratic delays with the coroner's office just trying to bring him home.
Why We Need Your Help
My grandmother is a fiercely independent woman with a lot of pride in her lifelong accomplishments. She never asks for help. Even now, while my grandfather has been bed-ridden for over a year, my grandmother still works a Monday-to-Friday job just to cover their mortgage, utilities, and daily essentials. They barely make it through each month on the limited income they are allowed to have.
I live with them as a stay-at-home mom to take care of them and the house while managing my 9-year-old and my 7-year-old autistic son. Because I have no steady income outside of occasional gig work, I cannot solve this financial crisis alone. This fundraiser is the only way I can think of to protect my grandparents from losing everything while trying to lay their oldest son to rest.
