I, like many others, had a tumultuous relationship with the American healthcare system. At one point I was taking 11 pills a day just to function, and I was no stranger to side effects. I was miserable. Over time, I started researching more holistic ways to treat my various conditions. With a mixture of herbal remedies, diet changes, acupuncture, and weekly trips to the chiropractor, I found myself pill-free for the first time in over a decade!

I want to help my community find the relief that I have. I’ve applied to the Wildwood Institute in Verona, Wisconsin to start my first year learning herbalism hands-on. In my first year, I’ll learn more in-depth about the inner workings of the human body, the many ways it can fail, and the many plants that can target and support the body’s incredible healing abilities. I’ll learn how to create simple medicines in the forms of tinctures, salves, and more. There are a total of three years in the full curriculum at Wildwood, each costing a steep $7,000. The first two are required to become a community herbalist, the third is required to become a certified clinical herbalist.

My goal as a practicing clinical herbalist is to make my services accessible to my community. Cost is so often a major stumbling block, so I plan to offer discounted services to those on government assistance programs, as well as a sliding scale for anyone who sees cost as a barrier. As long as my bills are paid and my family is cared for, I don’t see the need in making huge profits off of sick people.

Please help me make this dream a reality! Every dollar donated goes towards my tuition. Every little bit is a huge help.
