We want to help enlighten, and preserve the rich history of a culture that swept the world and gave music an entire new way to be listened to. As a young boy growing up in the Bronx not far from Sedgwick Avenue, I can still recall the sound of James Brown's sex machine coming out of building 1600. The extended sound of the drum beat gave it a flavor I had never tasted. These are just one of many memories that will be showcased and preserved in the Universal Hip Hop Museum.
