I am a young stay at home mom (28) of three little ones (11, 4, & 1) who decided that she wanted to do her part in the community and follow a path based on my love for animals.. this will be my fourth year running my small volunteer-based wildlife rescue and rehabilitation serving small animals in the central upstate new york region out of my home.
I've called my little volunteer rescue wildflower wildlife rehabilitation and as much as I adore what I'm doing and would love to continue this beautiful journey with not being government funded help is definitely needed to be able to expand my services and take the next step in the growth of my operation.
My ultimate mission is to rescue, raise, and rehabilitate as many orphaned, injured, or sick wildlife as I can and then return them to their natural habitats for them to live out their lives happy, thriving and living out the important role they play in our ecosystem. Treating and caring for wildlife takes an incredible amount of time and patience, but also material goods such as housing, bedding, food and medicine along with many other supplies that can be extremely costly.
This past years we have self-funded the operation as hard as it was sometimes. As we continue to grow the need has become larger and being a stay at home mom, this is what I put all my time and energy into when I'm not caring for my children. So Im asking for help in hopes I never have to turn an animal away due to lack of housing or supplies.
For as long as I can remember I was always drawn to doing whatever I could for the injured and orphaned furry creatures around us. Wether it was choosing the kitten that was the runt with gunky eyes out of the batch that no one wanted or putting a baby bird back in it's nest I've always had a burning passion for helping animals.
I knew that this was the right path for me and I've adored every step but I've also witnessed how expensive it is and the massive amount of animals in need of care. Now that I have gained the experience and skills that are needed to help many more sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife I just need the supplies and support to do so.
Also sadly, most of the wildlife that we have had to take in this year have been injured or orphaned due to human activities.. in my personal opinion, I think it is our responsibility to do what we can to try and restore these innocent victims back to health and get them back home where they belong.

Although spring and summer are the busiest time in wildlife rehabilitation we are seeing an odd abundance of late fall babies the past few years that will have to be overwintered until spring the following year in order to survive. So we will have an abundance of baby wildlife and the season has only just begun.. We are in desperate need of may things, various species specific foods, supplies to build outdoor structures for pre-release and or catios large enough to house them, medical supplies, nesting boxes, heat discs, and more!! Absolutely anything is appreciated! Even $1 helps as it does add up!
As we grow, we are also committed to another essential part of our mission, to educate the public about how to coexist peacefully with our often fragile local wildlife population. Each animal plays an important role in balancing our ecosystem. I believe that a better understanding of these roles, will help to foster a deeper appreciation for our wildlife. As humans, our most significant role is to be responsible stewards of our planet. I share my journey with these animals on my FB and IG pages (wildflower wildlife rehabilitation) in hopes you too will fall in love with the beautiful creatures and to realize how beneficial they truly are to our ecosystem!
Please if you can find the kindness in your heart help us reach our goal of providing care to our local critters a reality; even a small amount can make a big difference!
MYSELF AND THE WILDLIFE THANK YOU!!
