Members of the Locustville Academy Museum are revitalizing our historic building to provide a living history experience and a fun community and educational space for visitors and residents. We have a newly-energized board, some enthusiastic new members, and enough money raised to start painting, but we need more funds to renovate our restrooms so they are functional again, and to replace our defunct old oil furnace with a mini-split system. This is the oldest surviving school building on the Eastern Shore of VA. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places and deemed a Virginia Treasure by the governor in 2016. https://www.dhr.virginia.gov/historic-registers/001-0103/
Please help us to revitalize our Academy so it can once again provide a place for history, education, and community to thrive!
